The SOS Clinic Chili Cook-Off competition is a fundraising event, supporting the work of the clinic in Walla Walla.  Our local community will join the SOS Clinic at CAVU Cellars' Event Center, for a fun chili competition and help us raise money to provide health care services to uninsured or underinsured members of our community. 

This event will be open to adults 21 and over. The $30 entrance fee will enable attendees to taste each chili and will include a non-alcoholic beverages, or wine by the glass or bottomless beer from local breweries.  There will be a selection of local wines available for purchase. We will also be offering several raffle items and games to raise even more money to help the SOS clinic continue to fund the vital healthcare for our community.

The event will feature up to 12 contestants vying for the title of Best Chili in Walla Walla. The contest is open to amateur cooks, professional chefs, and anyone with a passion for chili. Prize winners will be selected by our panel of judges through a blind tasting. Prizes will include

• Trophy and $300 to the first-place winner.
• Trophy and $200 for the second-place winner
• Trophy $100 for the third-place winner

In addition, we will have a People's Favorite winner determined by popular vote, as well as creative awards determined by the organizing committee which will include:

• Most Creative Ingredient: Award the chili that surprises everyone with an unexpected, but delicious, component (e.g.,  exotic spices or meats or a unique sauce ingredient).
• Spiciest Chili:  The one that sets taste buds on fire. Extra points if it makes people sweat!
• Chili Name Puns Award:  Give a nod to the most pun-tastic chili name. Bonus points for groan-worthy humor!
